The Center for Grief and Traumatic Loss is now scheduling psychotherapy appointments with Dr. Botkin in Lincolnshire, Illinois. You must schedule three one-hour appointments. If you are coming from a distance, you may schedule two ninety-minute sessions on two consecutive days (for example, one on Saturday and one on Sunday), but not both on the same day. The fee is $200 per one-hour session and $300 per 90-minute session, to be paid at the time you come for the session. You may schedule more sessions.
EMDR/IADC therapy is not appropriate for everyone. A small percentage of people are not appropriate for the treatment. You will be screened when you come to the appointment and if you are not suitable, you will not be charged for the appointment. If you are coming from a long distance, the Center for Grief and Traumatic Loss will screen you over the phone when you call for an appointment.
Dr. Botkin will address your grief and traumatic loss, including taking you through the induced ADC procedure, but we cannot guarantee that you will have an ADC experience. The purpose of the visit is to help you with your grief using the very effective procedures of EMDR therapy and induced ADC therapy explained on this Web site. They usually result in dramatic improvements in the participant's grief.
We strongly recommend that you not plan on driving a long distance after the appointments. The induced ADC procedure often leaves participants very fatigued. Stay overnight in Lincolnshire or have someone drive you back home. The Hampton Inns and Suites, 1400 North Milwaukee Avenue, Lincolnshire, Illinois, (phone: 847-478-1400) is located next to Dr. Botkin's office complex.
If you are interested in scheduling an appointment, call the Center for Grief and Traumatic Loss at (847) 680-0279 Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Central time to schedule training in induced after-death communication (IADC) therapy for counselors, or to schedule individual IADC sessions for anyone interested in having the experience.
The Center does not bill insurance companies, but will certify that you have undergone the sessions of therapy and will provide relevant information if you want to seek reimbursement from your insurance company.
